Area of Figures

Area is the extent or measurement of space enclosed by geometrical figures or land. There are different formula for different shapes like circle, triangle, square , etc.The detailed formula and figures are given below.

1) Rectangle

Rectangle

`\text{Area of Rectangle = length x breadth=l x b}`

2) Square
Square

`\text{Area of Square = (side)}{^2}= s^2`

3) Triangle

Triangle

`\text{Area of Triangle=}\frac{1}{2}\times \text{base}\times \text{height}=\frac{1}{2}\times b\times h `

Triangle

`\text{Area of triangle}= \sqrt{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)} `

`\text{Semiperimeter},s=\frac{a+b+c}{2}`

4) Equilateral Triangle

`\text{Area of equilateral triangle}= \frac{\sqrt{3}}{4}\times \text{(side)}^2 `

5) Circle

Circle

`\text{Area of Circle}= \pi\times {\text{radius}}^2 = \pi r^2`

6) Trapezoid

Trapezoid

`\text{Area of Trapezoid}= \frac{1}{2}\times \text{Sum of parallel sides}\times \text{height}` `\text{Area of Trapezoid}=\frac{1}{2}\times (a+b) \times h `

7) Parallelogram

Parallelogram

`\text{Area of Parallelogram=base x height}= b\times h `

8)Rhombus

`\text{Area of Rhombus}= \frac{1}{2}\times \text{Product of diagonals}`
