Volume Formulas

Volume is a three-dimensional measurement that represents the amount of space inside a closed three-dimensional shape.The volume of three-dimensional mathematical figures like cube, cuboid, cylinder, prism and cone etc. can be easily calculated by using arithmetic formulas. Units will always be three-dimensional i.e. cubic feet, cubic yards, cubic miles, etc.

1) Cube

` \text{Volume of Cube =}a^3`

a = side or edge of cube

2) Cuboid

`\text{Volume of Cuboid =}l \times w \times h`

l = Length of cuboid

w = width of cuboid

h = height of cuboid

3) Cylinder

` \text{Volume of Cylinder =}\pi\times r^2 \times h `

r = radius of base

h = height of cylinder

4) Sphere

`\text{Volume of Sphere =}\frac{4}{3}\times \pi \times r^3`

r = radius of sphere

5) Right Circular Cone

`\text{Volume of cone=}\frac{1}{3}\times \pi \times  r^2 \times h`

r = radius of base

h = height of cone
